Stumpy’s was a great company if you are looking for a deck build or rebuild. The quality of the deck is excellent and we are very happy. We had a small 5×10 patio built in our side yard which is a pretty small project for them. The biggest reason I am giving five stars is that even though our project was small, the work that had to be done to deal with zoning and planning was pretty significant and they were extremely helpful even through some of the frustration with the city were always good at finding options when were unsure of what we would be allowed to build. They treated us like we were any other customer and took the project as seriously as any other even though I am sure this is one of the smaller projects they had this year.

We chose to go with Stumpy’s Deck and Restoration to tear down our existing deck and build a new one after meeting with several other contractors. I am part of a 5-unit, condo association and we had our deck rebuilt this spring (2021) by Stumpy’s Deck. We are very happy with the service we received and the work they did.
Our building is a 137 year old, Victorian house that has a large, 3-story deck in the back. We knew it would be a challenge finding someone who could take on this size of a deck attached to an old house.
We worked with Dennis Pitzel, owner of Stumpy’s Deck, and he was very easy to work with and helped guide us to some improvements we hadn’t thought about. At one point in the beginning of the process, he met with us to answer any questions about the process and the materials that he suggested. Whenever we had a question or concern, he was quick to respond with an email or phone call.
Daniel and his team of workers also did a great job, especially having to work in a tight spot on such a large deck.
We are delighted with our new deck and have been enjoying it all summer!
